My name is Stephen. 

I help organizations integrate AI effectively by combining 20+ years of editorial leadership with hands-on experience building and refining some of the world's most advanced AI systems.

As third editor-in-chief of Raw Story, I grew monthly readership from 50,000 to over 5 million. In 2022, I transitioned to AI development, joining Google's Bard team ahead of public launch to improve safety guardrails, then reassigned the day after its public launch to help rebuild its accuracy systems.

Since then, I've contributed to Google's Gemini, where I trained it to answer politically sensitive search queries with accurate, sourced, and on-brand responses; Meta's LLaMA 3, which sought a climate change expert (I'm also a mentor with Vice President Al Gore's Climate Reality Project, a non-profit organization); and Amazon's Alexa+, which required complex written logic blueprints in an attempt to teach their AI the nuances of humor.

Currently, I lead AI innovation at Aquent, a global agency with 700+ employees serving clients like Adobe, Merck, and Marriott. In this role, I develop AI strategies, products, and teams for major brands and guide enterprise-level implementations; the largest so far included an AI marketing pilot for French pharma giant Sanofi that resulted in estimated savings in excess of €120 million and a dramatic improvement in turnaround time for marketing materials tailored for highly regulated environments.
